COVID-19 Related Quit Attempts among Adults who Smoke in Vietnam

A study considered health and financial concerns related to COVID-19 to better understand what factors might inform a person’s consideration whether to quit smoking amidst a widespread public health event such as the pandemic.

On October 1, 2018, Indonesia implemented its first regulation on e-cigarettes. This project used online surveys in a pre-post study design to examine how the 2018 Indonesian tax on e-cigarette liquid affected use of cigarettes and e-cigarettes. 

Policies to increase the price of cigarettes, increase the size of graphic health warning labels, require cigarettes be sold in plain packaging without branding, and ban flavored cigarettes have the potential to support adults who smoke and want to quit.
