IGTC Work in Mexico
The Mexican Senate recently approved a bill amending the General Law on Tobacco Control. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador is expected to advance this law, which includes 100% smoke and emission-free environments and a complete ban on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship. This represents the first major change to the law since it was signed in 2008. IGTC has partnered with the National Institute of Public Health (INSP) for the past 20 years to build strong capacity at the national and subnational levels and generate key evidence to support tobacco control policies.
