Tobacco packs were collected in the 14 low- and middle-income countries with the greatest number of smokers: Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Pakistan, the Philippines, the Russian Federation, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, and Viet Nam. In each country, IGTC worked with an in-country collaborator to conduct field activities.

After collection, packs were coded for health warning label compliance, design features and marketing appeals. Click on each country icon to find out more about the state of the tobacco epidemic in that country, our data collection work and specific health warning label requirements.
