globaltobaccocontrol.org provides online resources, including free online trainings, research-based reports and guides, and information on the capacity building programs of the Institute for Global Tobacco Control (IGTC) within the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.


Tobacco control practitioners of all experience levels are encouraged to take our courses and utilize our resources. 

Users can select audio clips, images, tabs, panels, assessments, animations, timelines, videos and more as they journey through each lecture.

The information on this site can be translated into Arabic, French, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese using the drop-down menu at the top of the page. You can also access translated versions of some of our resources by using the search function on the Resources page.

Images, charts, graphs, and infographics are accompanied by alternative text or text versions so that people with disabilities will be able to access all course information according to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Our online courses requires a current web browser with JavaScript enabled. Desktop, laptop, and tablet are optimal for viewing the course. If issues in cellphone portrait view are encountered, cellphone landscape view is suggested. 

Registered users who complete any of our three free classes will have the option of downloading and printing a Certificate of Completion from the Institute for Global Tobacco Control at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
